Trio
that is inscribed and signed by over 50 cast and crew members to director Arthur Hiller, about 46 ¼ by 32 ¼ inches including margins, in very good condition (the four corners are bumped and there is some loss of the foam from the bumping).  The poster is signed by Eric Idle, the star of the movie, and several famous people who made cameo appearances including Billy Barty, O. J. Simpson attorney Robert Shapiro, Gary Franklin, and Peter Bart.  It is also signed by five members of the crew whose names are included in the credits at the bottom of the poster: Sharon Boyle, Music Supervisor; David L. Snyder, Production Designer; Reynaldo Villalobos, Director of Photography; Jeremy Baka, Writer; and Ben Myron, Producer.
In the movie within a movie, the film
Trio
was to star Sylvester Stallone, Whoopie Goldberg, and Jackie Chan; the actors did cameos but none of them signed this poster.  A copy of the poster hung on the wall in the producer's office and was visible many times in the film.  (I do not know how many copies of this poster were created but it must be very few.  It is probably the only one that ever got signed.  I acquired it from a sale of Hiller posters that was held after he passed away.)
For those unfamiliar with this film, it was released in 1998 and was supposed to be a spoof on the making of Hollywood films.  It was shot as a mocumentary in which the director of the movie, Alan Smithee, played by Eric Idle has stolen the master of the film so copies cannot be made and the film cannot be released.  He believed the movie did not meet his standards and threatened to burn it.  The mockumentary includes interviews with those connected to the movie to understand what it is and what happened.
The film is associated with a number of strange occurrences.  First, the director's name "Alan Smithee" was a pseudonym permitted by the Directors Guild (DGA) to be used by a director who did not want his name to be credited when a film was released.  So the director of
Trio,
Alan Smithee, was unable to take his name off the film.  Second, the film was produced and written by Joe Eszterhas.  When director Arthur Hiller objected to the way Eszterhas cut the film, Hiller was permitted to use the pseudonym "Alan Smithee" when the film was released.  (It was hard to tell the difference between fact and fiction.)  Third, the film distributor was reluctant to release the film and the film was shown in just 19 theatres for a week or two.  Fourth, Roger Ebert gave the film no stars, his absolute lowest possible rating.  Fifth, after the film was released, the DGA stopped the tradition of using the Alan Smithee pseudonym and now the director's actual name must be credited.  Sixth, the film was voted Worst Picture of the Year at the 1998 Golden Raspberry Awards.    Many consider it among the worst films ever made.
